WCP volunteering day 68, NR5 were on half-term holiday today, but YMCA Training group visited again, as normal
As it was raining very heavily and a very cold day, we decided to stay in the barn and carve pumpkins for Halloween
After some reluctance to get hands dirty all the youngsters got stuck in and we carved sixteen pumpkin heads. I took pictures of everyone concentrating. Zoe and Chloe borrowed my camera and took some shots - mainly of faces
Russell was meeting with the HR manager of the Broads Authority: I spoke to her about being a volunteer and feeling like a member of an extended family
What went well: manual skills, explaining templates for designs, creative expression, team spirit during games and strory telling later. , What went wrong: insufficient planned activities. Tasks assigned me by manager included several which excluded the group - setting up for tomorrow's Halloween event and collecting souvenir water plants for a leaving BA staff member.
